The transcoder process crashed error after upgrading

Server Version#: Version 1.24.0.4921
Player Version#: Any

I have been having issues with the last few upgrades, so I ended up rolling back to 1.22.xxx, but when I upgrade any files that I try to play external to my LAN error out - “Something went wrong playing your media. Please try again. Conversion failed. The transcoder process crashed.” I have been a long time PlexPass member…and haven’t had a lot of issues over the years, but this one is odd. I just upgraded to the latest version 1.24.0.4921 running on TrueNAS 12.0-U4…as soon as I downgrade the server (prior to 1.23.xxx) no issues. Anyone else seeing this issue after a recent upgrade? Even when I rebuild from scratch…once I upgrade past 1.23.xxx, same thing. I am also getting the “Server settings are unavailable” error…and like others…adding the “fix” export LD_LIBRARY_PATH="${SCRIPTPATH}/lib" corrects the problem…I used the PMS_Updater.sh script this time, hoping that the 1.24.0.4921 fixed the issues I was seeing in 1.23.xxx, but nope…let me know if anyone has any ideas or has seen something similar. Thank you.

Update…after searching around more…I found that someone else was having similar issues

…I went into my IOS app and adjusted the Quality settings (Limit on Cellular Data was set to 0.7 Mbps, 320p - setting it to the max 720p was still failing, so I had to turn it off)…and Automatically Adjust Quality kept causing it to fail as well…when I set Remote Streaming to 10Mbps, 1080p HD I was able to get a 4K DTS-X file to transcode and play. Clearly Plex has made some updates to the Transcoding “software”…as this has worked without any adjustments for years. Anyone know of anything…???

I just restored back to Version 1.22.1.4228 and everything is working normal…very odd…certainly something with the Transcoding has changed
