TheMovieDB - Show Episode Order vrs Intended Episode Order

I’m fairly sure what I’m looking for is not possible but I’m going to ask anyhow in case it is …

So lets take the show FireFly and I’m using the TheMovieDB to download metadata on the show and episodes in plex. Data downloads no problem and is pulling its data from the following URL which lists the season in the original order in which they where aired …

However - TheMovieDB has a view to show the episodes in their intended order which is different. The view they use is this one …

So… is there a way to get the plex agents to use the intended order view? I’ve tried change the episode ordering in the advanced settings for the show but it still does not change the ordering ?

As a last resort I could edit the metadata manually but want to see if I can avoid that.

Thanks.

Edit the show at its top level.
Go to the ‘Advanced’ tab
set ‘Episode ordering’ = ‘DVD order’
Save

Then Refresh Metadata for the whole show.
You might have to fix some of the episode stills manually, afterwards.

This won’t work with every show, so it is not a good idea to set it as a global default for the whole library.
It all depends on whether TheTVDB has these episode number in the DB or not. And since you can’t currently check that via their website, it is a bit difficult to handle…

But it works with “Firefly”.

Thanks tried that but alas does not work - could be due to the fact I’m using TheMovieDB for my shows and not TheTVDB :frowning:

You’ll have to change that for this show then.
Use Fix Match.

Nice - that worked and is an acceptable workaround to just use TheTVDB for this one show - thanks again for your fast reply.
