I’m suddenly seeing the message “There was an unexpected error loading this library” when trying to view my TV section in Plex Web. I have no such problems viewing the section in Plex Media Player or the iOS app. I’m running the current version of the server (1.4.4.3495), restarting it didn’t solve the problem.
First try database optimization:
If this doesn’t resolve the issue please provide logs:
This might be a database corruption:
Just fyi, latest and greatest PMS version is 1.5.1
Interestingly enough, I could still access my TV section when using Plex Web on my iPad; so, I cleared all Plex-related cookies in my desktop browser and that fixed the issue.

Running that now, thanks (I think I was running the latest public version, not the latest Pass version).
i fixed this issue by doing a metadata refresh on the affected section
I’m having the same problem. It happens on my Home Videos, Movies, and TV Shows. I’ve tried clearing cookies and refreshing metadata.
I’m running PMS 1.12.2.4929. What’s weird is when I click on “What’s New” in the server update section, it references PMS 1.13.4.5271. The “Check for Updates” button is grayed-out.
Any suggestions?
Run Plex Server “as Admin”.
-Right Click Plex Server icon
-Run as Administrator
Solve for me

Same issue. Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS, headless server, I can see things on Roku. I can see things on the local IP from the dashboard, but if you try to go into a library you get this error.
I get same error “There was an unexpected error loading this library”.
Even tried this on my dell running same LINUX OS and same issue. It appears to have a problem with the path, or maybe I need to add the plex media server to a specific group like sudo?
- Running: Parrot Security OS LINUX v4.5 updated to v4.6
- Lenova 64bit AMD laptop
- 2 gigs RAM
Could someone help me with this please? Otherwise I may as well cancel my subscription, it will be of no use to me…
delete your movies library, select other videos and add the folder where the movies are kept.
the way i fixed it for me was for each affected library:
empty trash
clean up bundles (not sure where this is now)??
refresh meta data
and it works till it doesn’t
