Even with TV Shows that specify the year on TVDB it’s stuffed.
For example, I just added the 1978 version of Battlestar Galactica. Folder name matches TVDB as:
/tv/Battlestar Galactica
However Plex auto added it as “Battlestar Galactica (2003)” despite my folder not referencing the year - which matches the 1978 listing of Battlestar Galactica.
According to the rules, and prior advice on this thread, /tv/Battlestar Galactica matches the TVDB listing for the 1978 version, and Plex should have added it as such.
That’s a shame. The current movie auto-match process works pretty well.
It’s TV Shows that’s borked.

Central Park STILL doesn’t work and STILL matches to Central Park West! And there is no fix match function for the series?

Scratch that! Fixed by doing fix match, changing to the movie database and year 2019, then auto suggested Central Park 2020 
You can also do the fix match and then click on Search options and in the title field enter 368121 which is the TheTVDB ID. Probably can clear the year also, don’t remember what I did. Then click search and you’ll get a (somehow amazingly, at least when I did it) a not 100% match, but the correct show.

Thank you @shark2k for that last bit of advice! I’ve been struggling with the show “Taste the Nation With Padma Lakshmi”, and it wasn’t until I did the match via TheTVDB ID that it finally worked!

I’ve been doing the fix match with TheTVDB Series ID input as “Title” and “Year” cleared out for some time now. It sometimes (more often than not) has an issue and returns a no title found. A simple re-search with the series id filled as title and year field cleared generally fixes this. Sometimes, it can take three to four searches before it pulls it in. But it does eventually work and match the show in question.
That did the trick. Thank you!

i have a problem in plex the movies are matching but when i add TV Shows there are no matches at all !!! , how can i fix it
Is any work being done on this. Still having issues.
Now Plex won’t auto match anything with country correctly in the title:
TV Show Folder Name: /tv/Cannonball (US)
TVDB: Cannonball (US)
Plex fails to auto match or find a result when selecting manual match
Yes I know I can fix this with a TVDB ID number, but I shouldn’t have to.
