Think I've broken Plex :-(

Hello all. Don’t know what I’ve done, but both server and players display searching for servers and never show my libraries. If I click home, I get the “subscribe to Plex Pass” page…yet from the menu in the title bar, I can hit “update libraries” and you can see it scanning and updating libraries. Confused and very frustrated, I’ve tried to follow the links for finding your server, but I’m signed in everywhere from what I can see. Can anybody offer any assistance?

On the server computer, launch browser and go to http://localhost:32400/web

That should find an unclaimed server which would get you to sign in to your plex.tv email account and claim the server. Once signed in and claimed, devices will find the server provided they are using the same plex.tv account

I see there was a Mac associated with your account but was signed out 9 hours ago

That did not work. I did not see any unclaimed server…just get this page. I have been signing in and out via a web browser. I deleted all devices to try to figure this out thinking they might be an issue…

May be the Plex Media Server app is no longer running

Download the Plex Media Server zip for mac from https://plex.tv/downloads

can you also see if the server logs got written to

The logs would be here ~/Library/Logs/Plex Media Server/
if you find them, copy out and zip and attach the zip here

Thank you for your swift replies…it’s very much appreciated. I took this file from the users/logs. Should I delete anything in this directory? What about a Time Machine restore from when It was working yesterday?

I have tried the app from my phone and laptop. The server is running on a MiniMac. Is there a way to restart from scratch? I just don’t understand why it can still update the libraries…but I can’t see them. I tried re-downloading, but it just copies over the old app.

the reason you cannot find it is because it is using a different plex.tv account and so is not available to the scar.advriders account

The server is owned by an account starting with bklang......

OK…that was my client. Can I log-in and unclaim it? That makes sense as we were setting up an Apple TV and Plex. How can I disassociate that account with mine? Just tried to log in with his credentials and it showed my libraries.

login with the server account to plex.tv
then go to server setting general and sign out
then sign out from plex tv

then sign in to plex tv with the right account
then claim the server with this account
