This is driving me crazy, metadata is NOT downloading.

For some reason everytime I add a new movie now, the metadata is either taking forever, or not downloading at all. Especially with TV shows. This started happening with the latest PLEX PASS edition of the server.

Is anyone getting the same issue? How do I troubleshoot this, what do I need to do?

Which particular version of Plex Server?
Which platform runs it on?
How are your movie files named?
How is the folder named where they sit in?
Are your media files stored locally on the server or on an external drive or a network share?

  1. activate debug logging (not ‘verbose’!)
  2. quit Plex Server
  3. wait 1 minute
  4. empty the log folder
  5. start Plex Server
  6. wait 2 minutes
  7. either refresh one movie or add one movie into your library
  8. wait 3 minutes
  9. shut down Plex server
  10. wait 1 minute
  11. zip up the whole log folder and attach it here

Just to clarify: Even when I force a match, it’s still now downloading the meta data. ALl my naming convections are always correct, SXXEXX.

LIke I said this did not start happening until the latest Plex Pass server update.
