My Plex server (doubles as player) is a Windows 10 Pro box, with 8GB of ram and a quad core AMD. The Plex server is connected to my FreeNAS box (via a mapped drive) where all my media is. All of my movies are named in the following format: Movie Name Here (2017).mkv.
Up until a few months ago, everything was working as expected. When I would copy new media to the storage drive, and tell Plex to scan, it would not download any metadata (poster/fan art, summary, ratings, etc). On occasion, I can “Fix Match” and get some metadata, but even that rarely works now.
I have gone as far as to install plex server on completely different hardware (the specs above) with a new SSD. A fresh install of Windows 10 Pro and fresh install of PMS (plexpass version). When I did my fresh install, I installed from my work network, and all the metadata matched and downloaded. But, when I bring my system home, I get no meta data. I have a wireless ISP that sometimes has high latency (100-200ms)… could this be my problem?
Does anyone have recommendations?
