This is getting weird …

Hi guys .

I have two plex servers on my local LAN.

Both servers running latest public version.

Both servers running Ubuntu 20.04.

Server 1 port 32400 ( external port ) has a vpn running since this server is using other fancy stuff. Remote works .

Server 2 port 32401 ( external port ) Remote works and not connected with a VPN.

Here comes the fun part . When I have to choose which server is my primary when connecting the TV’s . I see that my primary server all of a sudden is a Remote server even though the server is on the exact LAN as my tv in my bedroom. The living room is seens as local .

In my living room my LG tv is seen as a local player ( yay ) . But my tv in my bedroom is connected via my WAN ip .? Its like im streaming remotely from my own LAN.?.

I can see the traffic is downloading and uploading to my tv in the bedroom even though the tv is on the EXACT same LAN .?.?

Any ideas here .?

Thanks

The VPN on the 1st server is probably considered a separate network and therefore causing Plex to apply remote streaming restrictions.

Hi @tom80H

It has always been seen as local . Can it have anything to do with that I have installed Pihole and unbound for my network?

And why is the server seens as local in my living room but not the bedroom .?

Same server is seen as local streaming in the livingroom .
