This server is unclaimed and not secure on NAS

Server Version#:1.41.0.8992

I’m getting “This server is unclaimed and not secure” when attempting to connect with my Synology NAS. Clicking ‘claim server’ does nothing.

This usually indicates a network issue.

Plex Media Server must be able to communicate with plex.tv to claim a server. If it cannot, claiming will fail (unfortunately, Plex does not provide any feedback other than doing nothing).

See this post and the one below it. The thread references DSM 7.2.2, but the info applies to any version of DSM: Issue Running Plex on Synology DSM 7.2.2-72803 - #6 by ChuckPa

Thanks,
It looks like it’s connected but it still can’t be claimed.

I

Are you running a Pi-hole or similar ad blocking software?

Things to try:

  1. Use a public DNS server.

  2. Sync the NAS with a public NTP server to ensure time/date is correct.

  3. If enabled, disable (at least temporarily) the Synology firewall.

  4. Then stop PMS, wait 10 - 15 seconds, restart PMS, and see if you can claim the server.

Note: Your PC/Mac/etc. must be on the same network, 192.168.0.x, to claim the server.

Note: Use a incognito/private browser window pointed at http://192.168.0.218:32400/web. The private windows bypasses any ad blockers, etc. that may interfere.

Got it figured out and working - it was a connection issue. Thanks for your help!
