Three Issues with new Plex app (2025.13.0 (1025))

Since downloading the new app the following features do not work:

  1. Downloading will not complete, movies are stuck In Progress
  2. Already downloaded files (movies) have lost their icons
  3. I can no longer open the app with Face ID, have to go back to using a PIN

I have an iPad Pro 11" M4 2024 running 18.4.1

if you mean posters then that version should have a “refresh metadata” options in the menu for the items ( the three vertical dots on the right side of each downloaded item)

There was a internal issue made about this last week. I don’t know the status but I believe it is meant to be discussed soon.

Restarting the Plex server seems to have resolved the downloading issue.

Re. the posters for downloaded files, I could not see a “refresh metadata” option, only options I could see are ‘Play’ and ‘Delete’

Are these existing downloads from before you updated app? Sorry that option is only for new downloads initiated with new app. Existing ones won’t have the option. you would need to re-download

There is also a issue with the new Plex app on IOS (IPhone and IPad).
It is not possible to watch 4K media with the new app.
The app will crash and close.

Both app and plexmediaserver are on the newest update (22/04/2025)
