Three problems for Plex Player on Samsung Tizen 2.4

Server Version#: 1.24.5.5173
Player Version#: 5.27.2
TV: Samsung UE55KS9002 - Tizen 2.4

  1. Every time I plug my TV to electricity and then turn it on, and start Plex on TV, the player won’t start until I click once on the “back” button of the TV remote. I don’t know why, but the player won’t start, will be a black image, and stays like this forever!
Once the player it’s started, the second time will start just fine, until I unplug my TV from the power source. Then the problem reappear. (Old problem, since the preview version of ONE)

  2. The second problem I belive it’s more complex.
Some Remux, or UHD format files lose the subtitle after some time. It plays fine but then for no reason the subtitle it’s no longer displayed. For this to fix, I exit the movie to the home menu, then play the movie again, resuming it, and for 10-15 minutes the subtitle keeps working, then after a while I lose it again (this happens with .srt files), this didn’t happened only with one movie, this happens especially with the Netflix versions.
Last movie to have this problem was:

Shang-Chi.And.The.Legend.Of.The.Ten.Rings.2021.2160p.UHD.BluRay.x265.10bit.HDR.TrueHD.7.1.Atmos.mkv). (Old problem)

  1. Also, if I play some files with default TrueHD 7.1 audio format, the player loses the sound. I had to go and select another audio source of the movie like EAC5.1.
  1. Re-enable debug logging. Leave verbose logging disabled.
    Settings → server_name → General

Also, set your TV to log to the server at the debug level (this times out after eight hours).

Then re-create the problems, pull the log files, and attach them to the thread.

Without debug level information it is hard to tell what is happening on the system.

  1. Check your network setup. Your log files have many DNS lookup failures.
Make sure your server has a solid Internet connection and can access plex.tv.

Example:
Nov 11, 2021 20:36:06.441 [0xffff7f7c3aa8] WARN - HTTP error requesting GET http://plex.tv/pms/:/ip (6, Couldn't resolve host name) (Could not resolve host: plex.tv)

Not sure why the TrueHD audio is dropping out.

However, consider using the AC3 or EAC3 audio track anyway.

The TV does not support decoding TrueHD audio. As a result, the Plex Media Server will transcode it to a supported format.

The TV does support AC3 & EAC3 audio, so they should direct play / direct stream.

Others can assist with these issues. I don’t have a Samsung TV, so I can’t re-create the problem.
