Hello,
I am encountering a very specific and strange problem when using the “audio language” filter in Plex smart collections.
When I use this filter, the collection is created correctly, the content is OK, but the collection does not generate the panel of four random posters; I just get a dark empty box.
I have the same comportement regardless the audio language i choose.
If I edit this same smart collection and replace the “audio language” filter with any other filter (I’ve tried 4 or 5), it works fine and the panel is generated correctly.
So my problem seems to be specific to the use of this filter.
I already tried to create a whole new collection but it made no differences.
It looks like a bug, but maybe it’s a problem specific to my Plex instance.
Has anyone else encountered this problem and, if so, found a solution?
Seems to be working ok on my setup.
I’m on the current PMS beta, but the release notes mention no fixes related to poster generation for smart collections.
Ok, no luck !
I am not really confident but I will continue to look on my side.
As a workaround, i use labels… Boring and less reliable (as i could forgot to add this “fix” label to the shows where i need it) but doable !
Thanks !
Yes this is a bug with the server. It happens in smart collections showing “Shows” (the highest level) and is matching audio language on the episode level.
It also happens in other variations but I don’t report anything on here anymore so I don’t remember which.
Solution: It gives you an incentive to create your own posters that’s what I have done to work around this.
Sorry for the late answer !
Thanks for this information, I will stick with my workaround for now and I’ll check for a quick and easy way to do my own posters later… Thanks again !
