Spotify family doesn’t suit my needs because each member has a distinct account, which is not convenient on a single device at home, shared by everybody. By contrast, Deezer permits to quickly switch from one profile to another one without logging off and loosing parameters and downloads. Downside : everybody shares the same account and your music is not private.
About Tidal, how does the family stuff work ? On a particular device, how can one switch to its own “environment” with its own playlists and such ? Can it be done without unlogging ?
All your family members need to have a distinct username/email address for their individual Tidal accounts.
All your family members need to have a distinct username/email address for their individual Plex accounts. (Which means they must not be ‘managed users’. They can be members of the same Plex Home though, so the Plex Pass benefits will still apply to them.)
Thank you for this crystal clear answer. So standalone, Tidal is not for me (like Spotify’s familly way isn’t). Provided what you indicate, I’ll nevertheless give it a try with Plex, in case I find a way for Plex to lower the issue. I’ll report.
That depends on whether ‘Tidal Family’ allows for each family member to have an own login name. I don’t know that and I cannot find any documentation on it
If they do, then only one ‘Tidal Family’ subscription would be necessary.
Thanks Otto, I wasn’t clear on that and sounds like it’s not documented really well. $10 for the family vs $50 (family of five) would be a big difference.
