Tidal integration not functioning

As of yesterday Tidal integration has stopped functioning in my Plex player. Every time I attempt to play a Tidal track from my media server I get an unspecified “Playback Error” and every time I try to access Tidal through the search bar I get a message saying “An unexpected error occurred.” Tidal is still working through their web player, so the problem doesn’t seem to be on their end, and I’m still able to play my locally stored music so the problem doesn’t seem to be with the media server.

Does this only affect the Windows desktop player? Or other Plex client types as well?

If all client types are affected, here is a procedure for you to try:

  1. Go to your https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources account page and disable the “Music” provider
  2. On your https://plex.tv/users/other-services account page, unlink TIDAL, and then link it fresh
  3. Back on the Online Media Sources page, enable the Music/TIDAL provider again
  4. Wait 10 minutes for changes to propagate
  5. Restart (e.g. force-quit and launch) the player app
