Tidal only preview?

Hello!

This was working until I started to muck around with the linked account, but it seems that I am no longer able to play full songs via TIDAL? Also on a side note, given I have a TIDAL subscription via PLEX, am I also able to use the TIDAL app as well, or no?

Thanks!

Could you please describe what you did?

Try unlinking and relinking your Tidal account to your plex account here https://plex.tv/users/other-services

Yes, you should be able to use the various Tidal apps as well.

I tried unlinking and relinking the account to try and be able to log into the Tidal app, which then caused Plex to now only allow for limited preview and the same is true for the Tidal app now that I can log in. I have tried unlinking and relinking the account a few times after that, also re-authorizing the account and nothing has changed. Tidal says I have no subscription and would like me to sign up in the app, and Plex says I have no subscription when pulling up the TIDAL section.

Here is a slightly different procedure for you to try:

  1. Go to your https://app.plex.tv/desktop#!/settings/online-media-sources account page and disable the Music/TIDAL provider
  2. On your https://plex.tv/users/other-services account page, unlink TIDAL, and then link it fresh
  3. Back on the Online Media Sources page, enable the Music/TIDAL provider again
  4. Wait 10 minutes for changes to propagate
  5. Restart (e.g. force-quit and launch) the player app

Still no dice following the above steps. Plex web app and tidle still shows it’s preview, Plexamp isn’t working at all for those tracks.

Thanks!

Bit of an update here, it’s now telling me my account isn’t linked. New errors mean progress right?

The last action you did was to remove the Tidal link.
Then you added the Apple authentication. Then you ran into an automatic IP block, due to too many consecutive actions.
So currently, you have indeed no link to the tidal account.

The IP block should be cleared by now.
Repeat the procedure from above. Do only this, only once – slowly.

Then let it sit for several minutes before you reboot the client(s).
This is a cloud-based service. All changes need some time to propagate.
Changing too many things too often/fast

Followed the above steps again, taking a break between each step. At this point, TIDAL still shows that I have no subscription and I only have previews.

Same problem for me. Have you found a solution ? Thanks

Me too!

I was sent here by plexpass support who just posted the same advice as above which did me no good.

Never found a solution, ended up having to cancel TIDAL and denied a refund for something that clearly didn’t work right. Went back to Spotify, which you know, works?

I did reach out to TIDAL support at one point as well, who told me there was nothing they could do as it was something on the PLEX side. So I would guess it’s something between the two services that is causing the issue.

So I took up the Tidal offer at Plex and after my free month I’m due to start paying on the 11th. - in 2 days time.

Today I notice that Tidal has gone to preview only and Tidal itself says I have no subscription. Plex still says I am subscribed.

Is this me falling between trial period and payment start or is it a problem like others in this thread?

Plex team has confirmed the issue and is looking into it:

In my case no, never tried Tidal before. First and only contact was via Plex.

I have used Tidal direct through their apps and web site since signing up through Plex but not before then.

I don’t fully remember, but I think I had signed up for an account with TIDAL and then did the plex thing. It worked for like a day or two and then went into the preview mode, where it wouldn’t work on TIDAL or Plex.

Just as an update… I contacted Plex billing and asked if I was going to have service when I was paying for Tidal and got a prompt reply.

I was told Tidal mistakenly cancelled some subscriptions and it was now sorted - and it is now working again for me.

This for me too. I only get previews. It works if I connect it to Roon though.
