Tiny 'blocks' showing up / Plex not responding

Anyone running into issues with the Windows app locking up recently and seeing what almost looks like pixelation?

It looks kind of like pixelation but not really. Started happening within the last week or so. Im just now starting to look into it because it got annoying enough. My app updated today and I thought hmm maybe it was an issue with the app - but its still happening only now I cant also run Google Play Beta on a 2nd monitor while Plex is open. Play logs indicate my 3080TI is out of memory / unable to allocate memory. Close Plex and all is fine. I thought maybe it looked like what happens when a GPU overheats but mine is on water and it only happens in Plex. Also my temps are 50C or less while it happens.

Also while the Plex app is open, my CPU is unresponsive / jittery. Mouse locks up for a second or two, etc. The app eventually crashes.

Its a brand new machine / fresh OS / fresh Plex install - maybe about 30 days old. 14900K / 64GB / 3080Ti.

To be fair, I have also recently installed updated Nvidia drivers but given this is only happening while Plex is running I have my doubts that they are the issue.

Ill look more into it from my side - logs / drivers / reinstall / etc but thought I put this out there. I havent tried using a browser to stream from the server yet but Ill try that. Playing the actual file works just fine.

Dial down the “Video playback quality” setting in Plex for Desktop.
Then try again.
