Plex issues pixelating and freezing

  1. Hardware has been having some nagging issues for the past year or more.
  2. Loading of large libraries takes about 4-6 seconds on every browse of folders. The same lag occurs on the Plex web client. This happens with any file format type.
  3. When looking at library items, viewing (not playing) a specific title and then exiting back to the library takes you back to the top of the library instead of picking up where you left off in the sorted list.
  4. Biggest issue: when playing any title (recorded tv shows or movies or anything else), Plex pixelates when first playing the title. Then if you exit back to the main page and reply the same title again, it plays fine for the entire time. Then when playing the next title, the same happens (pixelating/freezing)…I exit to the main plex home page…replay the title and it plays perfectly. This is an ongoing issue.
  5. Hardware and app info:
    1. Plex Android app ver 10.24.0.2257 running on Nvidia Shield pro
    2. My plex server hardware runs on Intel i7-4790K processor with 32GB ram with Plex installed and running everything on a fast NVME M2 SSD.
    3. Transcoding, when needed, runs perfectly on the Intel and I use direct play successfully for nearly everything. I am a Plex pass lifetime member.
    4. Nvidia Shield runs the Plex client app on a wired ethernet 1G connection…no wireless.
    5. Nvidia Shield connects directly to TV via HDMI so no issues there.
    6. Rebooting the server and rebooting the Nvidia Shield and clearing Plex app cache does not improve the performance.
