Hi, I’m not quite sure how to describe what I need. I have The Office-U.S. dvd set, and none of the season 6 discs want to play on my player. The menu is unable to navigate properly, as far as seeing the deleted scenes and watching the shows with the commentary audio tracks. I’m able to slog through it with a couple PC players, so the data is there. Does anyone have an idea of how to maybe unpack and repack the data onto new discs?
A zillion years and several computers ago I knew how to take an avi movie and make a playable disc, but that was the extent of my knowledge. There’s more going on on these. I don’t think it would be doable to make all the extras watchable via my plex server, but I’d like my dvds to be watchable. I think it’s way too late for chasing down a refund or replacement for my discs, unfortunately.
Yes, windows 10. I only have one DVD player for the tv, but I found a couple DVD media players in the windows App Store that let me navigate and play these discs on the laptop.
There’s always MakeMKV to backup the disc or the individual video streams — this includes the feature film as well as all other stuff like extras, backgrounds, trailers, various warnings… with some discs you’ll get to pick the extras from a list of 100+ streams which can be a bit tricky (or require some patience); example: discs that have deleted scenes bundled in a single file/stream, as individual files with and without a studio/copyright frame, with and without a title frame… and suddenly 10 deleted scenes are available as 41 files (which to be fair is a super rare scenario )
I’ll check this out. Thank you very much for responding. I thought this might be the right place to ask
One of my friends asked me yesterday “you mean you actually bought every episode on dvd legally and there’s a file problem?” LOL Yup. That’s how I roll
