Tis The Season broke FireTV 4K Plex Player - Please FIX ASAP

Server Version#: 1.21.1.3830
Player Version#: 8.11.0.22186 (a1b8a7fb)

Since Tis The Season was added my home screen has been broken. Tis The Season was over 4 days ago, please revert or fix, this shouldn’t have been deployed until Plex has fully QA’d especial before a holiday like Christmas. I own a Plex Pass and shouldn’t have to put with this kind of crap!!

This is the issue:

So turn it off.

Settings > Library > Show Curated Recommendations > Disabled

Even with Show Curated Recommendations the menu is still messed up, it just doesn’t have Tis The Season.

Please FIX this ASAP.

I’m not sure what you are actually trying to show as broken. The separate Recently added hubs per library is a change of the server and has nothing to do with the Tis the Season hub. You can read more about that and other changes coming here. On Deck & Continue Watching

What I am trying to show is from my home menu on on my FireTV 4K Stick and Cube 2019 the options are in the following order:

Continue Watching
On Deck
Recently Added TV**
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added TV
Recently Added Movies
Recent Channels
Shows On Now
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added Music
Recently Added TV

** shows TV show’s I have had on my server for a least a year now.

I removed the Tis the Season stuff but it no longer appears and is no longer relevant.

This is how my Plex Media Player for Windows (version 1.25.0.1511-47afccd4) displays my home menu which my FireTV 4K’s were displaying correctly before the recent FireTV Player or Server Updates the following order:

Continue Watching
On Deck
Recently Added Movies
Recently Added TV
Recently Added Music
Recent Channels
Shows On Now

So you see the issue or are you still blind? lol

Like I mentioned above there are changes being made so every library has their own Recently Added hub. If you have multiple movie libraries then you will have multiple RA hubs. They will not combine into a single Recently Added Movies Hub. if you have multiple TV libraries they will each have a separate Recently Added TV hub

There is more info about coming changes in the link I posted above if you want to make comments about those changes,

AFAIk there is no difference if you use the automatic or custom home screen but that may be the reason you are seeing the difference on the two clients.

there is currently a difference,
manually managed homes = combined recently added (the only way to go)
automatically managed homes = separate recently added (boooooooooooooo)

Ok thanks @TeknoJunky I did not realize that.

As long as we get the choice to enable this feature they enforced on us once without really asking or thinking that not everyone would want it as it doesn’t keep the simplified Plex we all have become to know and love. And if they will refuse to do that then I would recommend looking at the competition and ask for our Plex pass money back.
