Titles Never Get Put in the Trash

Pretty sure this is a server issue.

So, in the process of doing the Plex dance, nothing gets put into the Trash. To clarify, I’m moving the files into a folder that Plex can’t see and then scanning the library it was in. Navigating to the show has it appear as “Unavailable” but it’s not in the Trash. Also, I’ve tried emptying the Trash to make sure it’s not a visual bug.

This may have been a recent change to prevent titles from getting removed while doing minor migrations of files. But I’m not sure how to get it to work properly. Has the method for getting stuff into the Trash changed or is this a bug?

Make sure that all folder paths appearing on the “Add folders” tab in the properties of the library are:

  • still existent
  • accessible by Plex server
  • not completely empty

All 3 must be true, or the library trash won’t empty.

That was the issue. Had some folders that don’t exist anymore.
