TNAS update makes media agent not work

Server Version#:1.43.3.10896
Player Version#:webui
<If providing server logs please do NOT turn on verbose logging, only debug logging should be enabled>

Using plex server on TNAS 6.0. After update new media cannot find matches. I even added a movie on a different library that previously matched. It remains blank. Worked fine before the update.

Plex Media Server Logs_2026-09-06_18-47-25.zip (1.8 MB)

Usually when Plex can’t find a match, its some type of permission or network issue. Does your networking look ok? Dns? Do you use your ISP dns or something like Google or Cloudflare?

Server logs would be helpful

Network is ok. DNS Problems can even remote in. Only function not working is the matching.

Again, without the server logs, its only guess work

I have added them.

First, next time you post logs, be sure to turn off Verbose logging.

Second, I’m seeing a lot of this error,

Sep 06, 2026 18:42:37.565 [139691848137528] ERROR - [Req#11c4/MetadataAgentManager/getAgent] Unable to find or create media provider for agent ‘tv.plex.agents.movie’

Googling that error indicates some kind of DNS blocking keeping your server from talking to the Plex metadata servers. Do you use something like pi-hole? Is the some new blocking feature that included in the TNAS update?

I don’t use any DNS it is just plugged straight into my router.

Well, your NAS will be using the DNS from your router and unless you’ve configured it otherwise, the router is using your ISP dns. Some ISP’s block connections to plex.tv. One quick test is to use Google DNS 8.8.8.8 & 8.8.4.4

Thanks for your help. I did as you said and put the DNS in. It is the same ISP and the same router before the update As soon as I installed the update 5 mins later it didn’t work.

Still not working though.

After reinstalling the update from fresh install fixed the problem.

Glad its working for you!
