Hi does anyone know if the new plex htpc does HDR to SDR tonemapping, without transcoding? Ive downloaded so many different versions of plex over the year, and quite honestly the features they list are horrible and want to avoid going through all this again, with the dl and setup. tks!
The playback engine of HTPC is the same as “Plex for Windows/Mac/Linux”.
So they also behave identical in this regard.
Try them both, if you want.
It does tone mapping. It uses MPV as the playback engine.
