Too Many Active Streams - Plex shows 0 active streams

For months now I have problem with one of my users that she is getting “Too Many Active Streams” error. No one else (3 more users, this is family only server) gets this error. I checked that I have 4 active streams per user limit set and she is not streaming anything when this happens.
Actually, I can see on the server, that no one is streaming anything at that time, no use at all - yet she gets this error, I saw it on her computer when I logged in remotely.
It seems to happen after many days or possibly some number of streams? The ONLY solution which fixes this is to restart server. This happens rarely enough, that there is usually update at that time anyway, so it has not been major issue. But it is annoyance.
This user is unique in the fact that she is streaming remotely over internet. But when I or other users stream over internet, we do not have this issue. But, she is also heavy user…
This is getting annoying and has been problem for may be 12 months now.
What should I do when this happens again to find the source of this issue?
Server is on Synology DSM6 and user is using macOS or iOS.

Same has happened twice to one of my users as well. Plex logs they do not show the additional active streams, nor plex dash, nor tautulli. Indeed it is fixed after a plex restart. I have went through the debug logs and could not find anything myself which was really weird.

A workaround @Honza1 , would be to implement tautuli scripts to kill any additional streams that you do not wish to grant to your users. I know it’s not the official fix but tautuli scripts actually offer a lot more than you get from just plex itself. Try it out.

Hey!,
I have Tautuli running,
Can you explain what you mean by “implement tautuli scripts to kill any additional streams” ?
how would one go about this?

I have 1 specific user that runs into this issue every week or so, cannot find why and all that i can do to solve every time so far is to bounce the plex server, quite annoying.

Ever find a solution or cause for this? Having this happen to a user now as well.

This has happened to two of my users in the last week, too. Never seen it before that.

Have not heard complaints recently, but do not know about any solution. Surely I did not do anything to fix it.

I have one user who uses Apple TV. I allow up to 3 concurrent streams per user at any one time. They also have been downloading content, but they only download one thing at a time.

Assuming downloads count towards maximum streams allowed, that would still mean they only have two streams going at any one time.

This morning though, they definitely had 0 downloads going, 0 clients opened any where except on their Apple TV, and they received a message say they’ve hit their maximum allowed streams or whatever it is.

I now have one user with “too many active streams” this user has NEVER had anything stream, a completely new user! So the streams are not the problem. I deleted the user and set up the user over again, no good. I updated and rebooted server, no luck

This is also happening for one of my remote users. They did a couple of downloads, gone offline and have since deleted them and reconnected but they still get the error.
Is this a potential bug with the server not getting notified that they have deleted the downloads?
