Doesn’t Automatic Sign In need to be on for Top Shelf to work?
It says it requires automatic sign-in to be enabled, or an account without a PIN.
(And enabling automatic login made no difference.)

That’s in line with my settings and you’re right… it even says so in the description for the “top-shelf” option
FYI, Top Shelf updated for me after the Plex update today with no other intervention. I’ll finish watching something and see it Top Shelf updates after it has been played.
EDIT: As of right now under version 7.3.1, Top Shelf is working for me. If that changes, I’ll post an update.
Can anyone else confirm it working under 7.3.1?

Mind sharing some more details. Repetitively posting “still not working here” is not much help 
Are you using a plex user without a pin or do you have automatic sign-in enabled in the Plex for Apple TV settings (as described in the Apple TV settings if you enable the top-shelf)
@BastardSheep nice template indeed! Even with app and Apple TV updates, Top Shelf is still not working for me, and I am not going to go through the pain of uninstalling/reinstalling just to get it back for a few hours. Top Shelf still broke. Have reinstalled Plex app a few times. Each time Top Shelf works for a short period of time, then back to Plex logo and no Top Shelf content. I hope this will be fixed soon as it’s obviously a main level feature and not some obscure problem.

Same problem here, Top Shelf does not like to stay working. I’ve uninstalled/reinstalled the tvOS app and it will work again for a short time, then break again. Glad to know it’s not just me.
It’s really inconsistent isn’t it? Mine has now been working properly since June 29 (see earlier in this thread) when I last did a “nuclear” uninstall / reinstall of the Plex app. And that is through many, many updates since as I’m on the beta track via TestFlight. And yet others here still having issues all over the place … hard to discern a pattern.
Surely it’ll now break again for me having dared to mention it here

Same issue here. Tried numerous reinstalls. Got auto login enabled and have Plex pass. Nothing. This feature was always really buggy
Same. It was pretty stable until several months ago. Now I’ll try every other release to do a fresh install. It’ll usually last a couple hours, maybe days, then nothing.

Same issue here with 7.4, I’m not uninstalling and reinstalling and having to configure everything again. They need to address this, that is not an acceptable solution. I just posted a thread about this but then discovered someone else had already reported it.

This is still a problem (months later), even after the recent (late August) update releases for both media server and the Apple TV Plex app. Is there any way to bring more attention to this issue for resolution?

Nothing more to add, except still not working. Top Shelf a nice feature and hope they squash this bug soon!
