I bought a Toshiba Tv “fire tv edition”
Amazon says that plex is not compatible with this device.
Will there be an update to these fire tv’s?

Where are you seeing that information? We have the 32-inch 720p version and the 43-inch 4K version and they both run Plex flawlessly on a daily basis. Hope this helps!

The Plex app should definitely be there and work. Can you provide a screen shot of the error?

Hey thanks for the reply, I’ve been using Plex for years now, Ive got it on every other device in the house (fire tv, xbox, other smart tv’s). This one baffles me.

I have the same issue. I have Plex installed on my Fire stick used with another TV, but the app is incompatible with my Toshiba Fire TV, according to the app page on Amazon. My screen shot would look similar to the original poster’s.

That is odd. I’ll check but I don’t think we control what devices are compatible. I don’t know of any restrictions.

I just found this thread. I also just installed the Toshiba fire TV. The Plex app is not found and it says incompatible when you try to load it from the Amazon website. Has anyone got this to work? Thanks

I was able to confirm that the app is missing for these TVs. We are looking into this.

Any progress with this?? I’ve tried many different methods to get this app installed on a Toshiba Fire tv but no success. I even tried opting to cast it from my phone but the TV doesn’t support mirroring either.

Same boat, expected to have it work but it doesn’t, same as already listed above. I’m adding my reply to follow along with any updates.

I just bought the toshiba fire tv and plex is 100% blocked. Can’t side load the app, can’t access plex via Firefox, it is completely in compatible and the amazon site shows plex app is incompatible with the toshiba fire tv.
I’m so pissed. I probably would’ve saved for another tv if i knew this would happen.

I am also unable to install the Plex app on my new Toshiba Fire TV. It’s not listed in the app list on the TV nor is it available to install through the amazon web site. I’d love to have this corrected soon.

I’m in the same boat, bought this tv for a child’s bedroom and Plex is not available at all. Please fix, I would not have bought this tv if it was not compatible.

Same issue. Just installed a 43" Toshiba FireTV Edition in my master bedroom and can’t install Plex app from the App Store. :frowning:

Haven’t tried sideloading an APK yet, but may resort to that next. This is really disappointing. I would not have bought the TV if I knew Plex wasn’t going to work …
