Boy this is a mixed bag of answers, every one has a different answer?
I guess the solution is to stick to Roku TVs if Plex is important. Even if this gets fixed, the fact that the Amazon app store is inconsistent among brand new devices, with zero explanation of the reasons or which devices support which apps, is a deal-breaker. The only reason we would sell out our own living room conversations to Amazon is to escape the fragmentation of smart TV app support. That’s literally the only reason I can think of to buy an Amazon Fire TV.
Here’s a solution, buy a Fire Stick for your brand new Fire TV. LOL
I was having this issue with my 43-inch Toshiba. Some time last week a system update installed and the PLEX app showed up. I installed it and it appears to be working fine.
At least in my case, the Toshiba TV now shows up as a compatible device in Amazon’s app store.
Just as data point, I was able to download Plex now via the normal amazon appstore flow.
I have a 32LF221U19.
