I ready have Plex on my Toshiba FireTv 32", just use the Apps2Fire App that is in Google Play, and just follow the steps on the video How to install APK on Fire Stick or FireTv

I have the same problem, I am just comenting to keep this alive because I am interested in having Plex in my TV, it was one of the reasons to buy this on Prime Day with a discount 
Same problem here. I have a friend who has the exact same TV on the same FireOS release and he has Plex available to him.
I bought this TV for my mother as a gift so that she can use PLEX to watch some of her shows and movies that she likes. When we set it up, there was no plex app to be found, same as everyone above. When I go to amazon and try to PUSH the app to the device, it will not show the device because it seems to be incompatible.
My mother lives far away and I do not want to go through trying to sideload anything so I am wondering if there is any news on this or an ETA? Should I return this TV (It may be too late already) or are you all still working on supporting the app for this device? Can I ask what the problem is on this device from a programmatic standpoint?
bumping for an update? I have to make a return decision on this product based on this answer. Can someone explain what the issue is exactly? Should I bug amazon because they aren’t listed compatibility properly? or toshiba for a crummy product? or plex for a buggy app?

Same issue. Purchased a 32 inch 720p Toshiba fire TV. Everything works perfect except Plex of course - not available for download. I see this thread started several months ago, curious if there’s been any new updates on getting this resolved? Is this a Plex or Amazon issue - Who isn’t playing nice?
This is for my RV camper so I don’t get the best Internet down here but will return if there is no solution.

Check the first page about side loading an older version. I have this done to both my fire TVs and it works fine
We’ve made some progress. Nothing specific to share but hopefully the app will be back in the store for these TVs soon.

I just got a 24" Insignia FireTV Edition for my child only to come to the horror the current Plex App for the Fire TV dies when trying to stream videos.
Just a request if this can be fixed in the future. I did side load “Plex 7.11.3.9220” for the FireTV and that is working for now.

You cannot install from the Fire TV app store but you can from the Plex download site that directs you to the online Amazon website store:

Can we get at least a tidbit of info about why this is an issue? The selling point of Fire TVs and Roku TVs is that we assume we won’t have to deal with fragmented app stores for all the TV brands. What sets these TVs apart?
As the tech friend of a lot of people, I’m really close to recommending people stay away from Amazon based products. A brand new model “Fire TV” would be assumed to support the app store of a Fire Stick, this seems useless. I’m guessing the Amazon data collection on these TVs works just fine (lol).

Also with Black Friday next week, it would be good to spread the word that Fire TV devices may not support some popular streaming apps. It will certainly weigh on my decisions.

Just bought the Toshiba 32in Fire TV edition today and same thing - no Plex available and showing up in Amazon and not compatible. And of course didn’t know of this issue until after purchasing the TV. Trying a few options on this list and if unsuccessful, will be returning the TV tomorrow. Someone (Plex, Toshiba, Amazon) needs to fix this pronto!!!

Following up because I recently purchased a NEW Fire TV (Toshiba 55LF711U20 55-inch) in October for my Dad and planned on doing the same for him … only to find a version of the PLEX app WAS available in the APP store and worked fine.
So not sure why it was available for the 55-inch and not the 32-inch ?
But in October the NEW PLEX app was available and is working for my Dad
