Track name not shown in Library Radio

When listening to the Library Radio, I get no track names. Songs play fine, I see artist and sometimes album names, art, etc. However, the player itself and the notifications do not show the track name. If I go browse the library to play an album or track, I see the track names fine, just not with the Library Radio. The radio function is primarily what I want Plexamp for so it’s frustrating to just see artist names all the time.

Are you sure it is the track titles which are missing and not the album titles?
Have you tried enlarging the player window slightly, vertically?

Yes, I’m sure… it’s missing the song name. Here is an example:

Interestingly, I just realized that if I resize it to be smaller (such that I can’t see the “up next” stack) The album name appears. If I make it large enough to be able to see that, then the album name goes away. No amount of enlargement makes the track title show.

Does the album have an “Album Artist”?
Try making it smaller, horizontally.

Almost certainly a metadata issue not unique to Plexamp but because of missing server data.

Yeah, that’s the root of the problem; sorry for not checking back in here as I’m still chasing that. There is some weirdness to it being too wide and not showing things like the album name, which is odd. However, the root of the problem is that despite all my media having hand-cultivated id3 tags, the plex server refuses to pick those up from some files for some reason. I normally listen in another application which shows them all, and I never noticed that my plex server hadn’t gotten them. The interesting thing is, the “library radio” seems to be picking almost exclusively those files for some reason. If I click the next track button rapid-fire, I see that it does occasionally pick a track with a name, but by far it picks the tracks where plex hasn’t picked up the id3 tag, which is really strange.

I’ve been wrestling with plex trying to figure out why it won’t pick out tags for these files and I guess I need to decide whether that’s worth the trouble of chasing vs. using my usual application. That said, it’s true that it appears to not be plexamp specific.

If you can reproduce us not picking up the tags, let me know and upload a sample. If you want your tags to be the source of truth, you should make sure that option is enabled in your library and (maybe?) make sure the local media agent is higher priority.

Refreshing an album should make it re-read tag data.
