Track times being misreported + files don't play in Plex Web

As you can see from this screenshot, the track times are wild. (It’s not just this album, but several I’ve recently imported - this is the most egregious example). The tracks won’t play in my Plex Web on my desktop that runs Plex Media Server, though they do play remotely despite reporting the wrong track times (on Xbox, mobile phone, other laptop, etc.). They play fine in any other media player (Windows Media Player, Media Monkey), with proper tracks time reported. It’s lasted through multiple Plex server updates.

Any idea what’s causing certain tracks to do this? I’ve moved the files out of my library folder, re-scanned to remove them, then copied them back to the library and scanned again. They came back with the same issue. With this particular record, I even re-encoded the files (converting from a different .flac source to .mp3) to create new files (albeit with the same file names) and the exact same tracks still had the exact same issue. It’s not the worst thing in the world since they play remotely, but it just one of those things that kinda drives me nuts.

Are you certian that these are actually flac files (and not just renamed with a different file name extension)?

Do you have
Settings - Server - Scheduled Tasks - “Upgrade media analysis during maintenance”
enabled? If not, do it.

Have you tried a Plex Dance?

Check with a metadata editor that these flac files only have meta tags in “Vorbis comment” format in them. Don’t use ID3 tags or Ape tags in flac files.

Sorry, to be clear. These were .flac converted to .mp3 in Audacity. After the first set was wonky in Plex, and simply rescanning the files didn’t work, I downloaded a different .flac version of this album, converted that to .mp3, and had the exact same issue.

I have since used MediaMonkey to convert them to .mp3 again (simply converting the .mp3s to… mp3s) and while three of them were fixed, four files were not… guess if I just keep doing this I’ll eventually get a full album that works. Weird.

And yes, that setting is enabled.
