TLDR: For some time now when I hit the “Trailer” button in the pre-play screen of a movie it does not play the correct trailer. It plays the FIRST local Extra trailer which may be another movie’s trailer. I believe there’s a problem with the way the new movie agent loads online and local trailers. I also believe that the logic of the “Trailer” button simply plays the first extra relying on it being the first online Plex trailer. This error only occurs if you have online and local Extra trailers for a movie. If you only have online Extras it will not show up. If you remove local Extra trailers it also will not show up.

In the first example movie, Take This Job and Shove It, I have ripped Extras including other movie trailers and loaded them into Plex. Show below:
All of these trailers are local Extras and load and play correctly when selected. When I select the “Trailer” button above though, it plays the “Body Slam Trailer” instead of the online Plex trailer for this movie. I do not believe that Plex has an online trailer for this movie as none is shown in the Extras list.
In the next example, Zombie Night, there IS an online Plex trailer for this movie and it is positioned AFTER the local Extras.
In this case the “Trailer” button does not play the online Plex trailer “Zombie Night” shown in the last Extra position but the first trailer which is a local Extra trailer for another movie.
In the final example, The Way Back, I tested removing local Extra trailers. In this screenshot you can see the three local Extras including two trailers are the first three listed Extras:
The problem is the same. Press the Trailer button and it plays the first Extra, the local Extra “Every Day Trailer”. Here are the files on disk:
Now I removed the two local Extra trailers from this directory and performed a “Refresh Metadata” on this movie:
Notice the order changed and moved the online Plex Trailer to the first position. Now the “Trailer” button plays the online Plex Trailer as expected.
This seems like a very reproducible buglet in the logic of the new movie scanner/agent.
