In the latest version of Plex (Android TV), the first extra is shown as a trailer.
Trailers are an type of extra and can be shown with the extras. There also can be more than one trailer. Is this an extra you added yourself or the automatic ones?
Well I have no trailers added for any movies, only deleted scenes, behind the scenes, etc. all added myself manually.
However, with the latest Plex Android TV app update, the first of those extras is always treated as the trailer.
The Plex mobile Android app and Plex web client don’t have this issue.
Did you already experience this on 8.5.1?
With the public release it seems to be working as expected for me (all extras showing as properly categorized; no mislabelling as “trailers”).
I am on the Beta. The Plex Android TV app now has a new UI.
As an example, for Pacific Rim, I have only a single extra. A deleted scene. However this deleted scene now shows as a trailer, as you can see from the screenshot below.
This doesn’t happen with the mobile Android app and Plex web client.
the bottom where it says what it is is cut off. did you mean the “play trailer” button. plays the deleted scene?
Yes exactly. The Play the Trailer button plays the deleted scene.
There shouldn’t even be a Play the Trailer button here as I haven’t added any trailer file.
The equivalent movie page on the mobile Plex app:
PMS: 1.20.1.3252 on Synology DS918+
Client: 8.6.0.20028, Shield Pro 2015
I’m seeing same thing. Possibly tied to the library’s Find Extras setting.

I don’t have Plex Pass but I think the Plex Android TV app is assuming the first extra is a trailer.
I also noticed that the Play the Trailer button doesn’t show for TV Shows anymore though there is a trailer in the Extras section.
This has been fixed for Movies in the current version of Plex for Android TV.
However, I still don’t see the Play the Trailer button in TV Shows on any of the Plex client apps.
There are not trailers or extras for TV shows. I really don’t even know how that one is showing up there since it is not something that is officially supported…
I use the LocalTVExtras.bundle at I was able to see all sorts of extras in TV Shows in all the Plex client apps.
We don’t make that so I imagine that is why it doesn’t create the Play Trailer button.
