I could not play any trailer for my video files in the PLEX library anymore. Neither from AppleTV nor iPhone nor Web Browsers. It worked in previous versions. I was not aware that I’ve changed something in the setup. The strange thing was, that the trailers under Discovery worked without any problems.
After some investigations I found the root cause in the log files. Entries as the following:

Operation not permitted? This sounds like a firewall issue. And indeed. I had the change the following highlighted settings in VirusBarrier:
Actually I guess only “Plex Transcoder” was the problem.
Now everything works as expected.
