I just updated my Apple TV 3rd Generation last night after it being dormant for several months.  I went through all the motions of updating Plex Connect and ran into a similar issue where the Profile would not create.  I ultimately determined that the IP listed by Plex connect for my Macbook was wrong and adjusted the Profile to reflect the Macbook Pro IP.  That solved my issue, it took me about 30 minutes extra to figure that out.

Certs generated fresh and installed to aTV?

...it sure looks like a cert issue. Or firewall, though that seems more of an issue on Win.

Strange…new certs generated with openplex…already cleaned and installed os on atv…new router but before updating to 7.2 everything worked like a charm…maybe dns problems?

Maybe new router has firewalled https??

I’m sorry if what I wrote doesn’t make sense =)

Did you delete the old certs from the aTV --> upload the new certs successfully to aTV --> restart the aTV --> then try the hijack?

Yes, I did. I restored atv ti install new os version 7.2

How many network adapters are in use, antivirus, virtual machines (e.g. parallels / vmware / virtual box), internet sharing enabled, firewall enabled on OS X? Rebooted OS X, entire network? What is your network layout from aTV to router & mac to router (switches, ethernet to something adapters)? Web server enabled? Mac OS X Server?

WOW! So many questions! I try to answer all...

1) On my MacBook Pro only wi-fi network adapter, atv goes into router with ethernet.

2) No antivirus

3) One parallels vm machine with windows but I had also before

4) No internet sharing enabled

5) No firewall enabled

6) I don't know what web server is

7) no Mac OS X Server

8) I've just assigned a static IP to my MBP. So I choose the position and then I get the static IP

Last changes on my mac where:

1) modified hosts file to block some adobe outgoing connection

2) when I start MAMP to run the APACHE server i get the error the port 8888 already in use by other software...

I'm wondering if I can have issues with my router. Do I need to manually forward some port?

You only need to forward port 32400 if that is your remote access port in PMS and you desire to share your library to friends/family. Web server=apache server but you are running that on 8888?
