Trailers not showing up

Hi guys,

I switched to a new Plex server (using the Synology DS3617xs). But for some reason I can’t get any trailers showing up anymore on my movies.

On the Settings -> Server -> extra’s -> Choose film trailers from:-> ALLE MOVIES
and Use cinema trailers from movies from my library

As PlexPass user they should show, but nothing is happening here.

Is there something I am doing wrong here?

Settings - Server - Agents

Enable “Local Media Assets” on all tabs
Save the changes
Update your libraries
Wait 1-2 minutes
Now check for your extras

Thanks ChuckPA, I think I already done this?

Maybe I am missing something else?

Here’s what I get after refreshing the library

What local media assets (extras) should you also be seeing? I might have misunderstood your initial request

Usually I can see trailers. Plex checks a movie name and finds the trailer online at Youtube and gives the trailer button you can use to show this trailer.
Usually less famous movies won’t have trailers but movies like Star Wars have them of course.

So in short, I do not have a trailer on my Plex server downloaded but wan to see the trailers from youtube

Here you can see my settings too

UPDATE: I found some DO have trailers!! Strange is that Star Wars does not, but after setting some other extra’s and refreshing the database it looks like that some movies do have trailers… 50%… better then nothing right?

I’m having the same issue. If the trailer exists as a local extra on my server, it shows up, but add a plex pass member, big name movies that have trailers on you tube should show up. Some do, but only some. It’s hit or miss. For instance; wonder woman doesn’t pull the trailer from wherever, with my plex pass.

I read somewhere that the issue is with MKV files but I’m not positive. I’m also having the same issue as you.

I have the same problem. Instead of “show trailers” my Plex Client shows “mark as shown”…

Any progress here?
