Trailers for movies in my library (Plex Pass Subscription)

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this is a duplicate request. However, I had my plex server setup on my Windows PC for about 2 years and I recently switched over to a Mac. One thing I noticed is that most of the movies that I have on my server don’t show trailers/extras anymore. (Some of the movies do show trailers). I have enabled below in Settings > Server > Extras

Include Cinema Trailers from movies in my library
Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies in theaters
Include Cinema Trailers from new and upcoming movies on Blu-ray

I have also done “Refresh All Metadata”

What else can I do to get trailers for all the movies in my library. I don’t want to add any additional files on my computer. I want Plex Pass to do this.

Any help is much appreciated.

Thank you!

I believe the settings that you quote determine which trailers get pulled during the “preroll”… meaning, the one or two that play before you watch a movie, if you have that feature enabled on the client side.

I can’t speak for Mac specifically, but I have a hard time finding a film in my library that doesn’t have a trailer on the page for the movie.

Try testing different clients if you have them to make sure the experience isn’t localized to the Mac. Plex web? Roku? PMP?

After you mentioned about those settings, it got me to think of other settings. I went to check to see the Plex agents that I have enabled under Settings > Server > Agents > Plex Move. I changed the order, did a “Refresh All Metadata” and few minutes later I have trailers for all the movies in my library!

Thank you so much for your response!
