I just noticed that even though I have ALL trailer options disabled on all my libraries I still have a hub for “Trailers for upcoming theatrical releases” or “Trailers for upcoming Blue Ray releases” in all my movie libraries on some clients those appear even in a test library I have that is otherwise totally empty at this time.
My Rokus and my Shield TV have those garbage hubs while my Fire and my PI (running PMP) do not.
Since I have ALL trailer options unselected I should NOT be seeing that hub and I do NOT want to see it. Please turn it off unless it is wanted and specifically asked for in the library setup.
Sigh… I think we’re being ignored. Several threads about this annoyance, here’s a couple
For the Roku specifically:
General complaints:
and there’s a few others I can’t find right now…
An option to turn it off is necessary. I have a library set up for my under 10 year old grand-kids, and they get to see some trailers that are probably a bit more “mature” than the rest of the material in the library

That is one reason I posted in the general Plex Pass forum, so I could be ignored by the best.
I find it strange that this bug exists on some clients and not on some others. But the most amazing part is that the bug is on the Roku at all as the Roku developer is among the best if not the best developer Plex has.
I really had not noticed the problem before as I never use the hubs at all. I only noticed it now because a totally empty library has trailers showing up. I do not remember that library having trailers the last time I used it (a month or two ago) but I only use it when I want to test something without interfering with my other libraries. It is named " ``Test Movies " so it appears at the bottom of my library list and I almost never even see it.
Sorry guys, there isn’t a way to turn off this new trailer hub currently. The cinema trailer feature and the trailer hub are totally separate things. 1 has no affect on the other. And you’re not the first to ask about it. We’ve heard the desire to be able to turn off/adjust what is shown. Right now, it is what it is.

That is an offensive and untrue response. It is off on my PI (using PMP) and on my Fire so clearly it does not have to be on. Plex is just making excuses, again, for laziness and sloppy programming and for the fact that they want everybody to view their media in exactly the same way.
I really like Plex but lately the “like” factor has dropped dramatically and it will not take a lot more of the “like it or don’t use it” behavior to get me to move elsewhere.
I really don’t like the alternatives but Plex is moving to be more and more like Netflix and the other “View it our way or not at all” companies.
I moved to Plex because I decided to spend money on building my own library BUT I an beginning to think I have made a mistake placing my faith in Plex. There all alternatives and those alternatives look better all the time even with their drawbacks.
To be honest i do not see that useless and worthless hub unless I actually look for but I find that Plex thinking forcing content on us is in any way OK is worse than offensive.
I am now going to take another look at Emby and other alternatives because of the stupid arrogant response by a Plex employee and that look will be taken with a MUCH higher negative feeling about Plex and I can assure Plex that it will cost them a bit if I choose to move as I have a good number of people that accept my advice. Admittedly my influence is small in the overall scheme of things BUT it is strong among those that I help.
I hope that response was just a knee jerk reaction that proves to be false or at least shortsighted but it sounds like Plex has, once again, decided that their customers do not matter unless those customers agree with the way Plex wants media to be accessed.
The fact that Plex calls this a feature when the way it operates makes it clearly, to me, a bug says a lot about the way Plex does not really care about their customers.

How many times are you going to say you are leaving then don’t?
I swear I see you post these threats all the time and you are still here!

I am sorry if you felt my response was offensive. Just trying to provide a straight up answer to your question. And my response was true.
The trailer hub is a new feature and PMP and the Fire TV devices have not implemented it yet. As an inverse, turn the cinema trailer feature on and see if you get the trailer hub. You shouldn’t.
