Update : I noticed that trailers work in Watchlist while they keep crashing when i want to wach them from my librairies.
Any updates from your side ?
Yesteday i had 2 friends that came at my place. As they were interested in plex, i shown them how it is, they liked until they ask me to click on the trailer button… 
So sad to have a premium feature like this broken.

It’s still being looked at but the work around is to allow the trailer to transcode.

Sure… But until the issue is solved by Plex I deal with it.
Yes, but I don’t allow to transcode, so trailers doesn’t work.

Plex, you made a good job with Plex!
Don’t lose paying members like this. Provide already transcoded trailer versions for the top 10 device like Android and we are good.

Hi @anon18523487 , it seems that the last PMS beta update fixed the issue, trailers are back on my Shield!

Hello, I can’t confirm that. With PMS 1.28.1.6041 (Windows) the trailers still don’t work on Shield with latest Plex app.
It still doesn’t work on shield pro 2019…
BUT…
I can confirm it now works on my Mi Box S with latest player beta v9.6.2.34368 and Latest PMS v1.28.1.6041 on my Synology NAS. But as said above, still not on the Shield.
Update: tried on my Mi Box again today just because and today it didn’t work, tried the same trailers that worked yesterday. Right now this seems to be more random and something is very buggy.

Unbelievable, it doesn’t work anymore!
I tried 3 trailers movies from my librairie (not Watchlist, not Discover) 2 hours ago and they all worked as expected. Now I see that it doesn’t work for you guys, I just retry to play those 3 same trailers, out of curiosity, and they doesn’t work anymore!
I even didn’t close my Plex session, i did nothing and they gone from playing to Impossible to read.
How the hell is that possible???

Hahaha, wait a Moment: This is very funny.
FIRST, after restart it works for me…the Trailers are back. Than, after 5 Minutes or so, it wont work again on ANY movie. Wo way…
@kinde61 Are you running PMS on a 10gen Intel chip or newer? We are looking into an issue with those and hardware transcoding. Turn off hardware transcoding for now and it should work.

the Server runs on a Virtual Machine with Windows Server 2019 SD. The host ist an simple 8th gen Intel Ultra Cpu.
But a little win…it works with “Deaktiviere Video-Transcodierung”. All movies goes direct play (witch is okay) and the Trailers must be decoded.

WITHOUT unchecking this it wont work.
Huh. That’s the opposite of the issue we’ve seen. If you are running PMS in a Virtual Machine, you probably have a different issue. We don’t test PMS in a VM so it is not known what is expected.
So you had this “moment” too 
It worked for few hours and now it doesn’t anymore, what happened there?
