Transcode Container Stalling

I continue to run into problems on my Intel NUC with i7 6770HQ (W10) with transcodes stalling out despite CPU and GPU being at 1-3%, ram at 65-75% usage, and 18gb being free on C:/, with LAN connection on Web, Android, and Xbox client(s).

Server Version#: Version 1.15.1.791
Player Version#: Version 3.83.1

Direct play seems fine but transcoding a container for web clients seems to stall the stream out with the transcoder just going to Speed 0.0 and nothing changing and the server running 1-3%. If I restart the stream it works for a minute or so before stalling again forever. The main culprit appear to be MKV files and are only 8-10GB.

Example from Tautulli during stall:

  • CONTAINER Transcode (MKV MP4)
  • VIDEO Direct Stream (H264 1080p)
  • AUDIO Transcode (DCA 5.1 AAC Stereo)
  • SUBTITLE None

I ran into a similar issue today direct playing both audio and video with on LAN over an hour straight of no issues to only have plex server randomly stop sending video data from the server and the client just “buffering” despite no data coming in. Other than restarting the stream no idea how to fix this or prevent this bug.
