I’ve been running Plex DVR for a number of months now and occasionally I find a recording failed. It’s a challenge to collect the logs for troubleshooting as they have usually rolled over before I notice the issue. However, last night I did notice the issue during recording and captured the logs.
PMS is 1.12.0.4829 on Windows 8.1 with a WinTV-quadHD card. I only had 3 recordings scheduled last night and all at the same time. 2 succeeded and 1 failed. I was recording Timeless (NBC), Deception (ABC) and Madam Secretary (CBS). Timeless failed right away with a “Transcode error” and disappeared from the recording schedule after the show ended.
I’ve filtered the Plex Media Server log to that show’s recording task [5424] and attached here.
“Convert video while recording” is Off on both instances of the WinTV-quadHD devices, so not sure why “transcode” would even apply during recording.
