Transcoder Failure

Server Version#: 1.19.3.2852
Player Version#:All

Hello, recently I have noticed that I get the error message “Conversion failed. A required codec could not be found or failed to install.” This only seems to happen when trying to transcode selected audio within playback media.

I think I have tracked it down to this;

May 26, 2020 10:25:44.715 [15544] Error — Error creating directory “\?\r:Transcode\Sessions\EasyAudioEncoder\Convert to WAV (to 2ch or less)”: The filename, directory name, or volume label syntax is incorrect

May 26, 2020 10:25:44.715 [15544] Error — CodecManager: could not create EAE watch folder

May 26, 2020 10:25:44.715 [15544] Error — Error configuring transcoder: Decoder install failed: eac3_eae

Does anyone have any idea?

Kind Regards,

Matt

r:Transcode
doesn’t look like a valid path.
Does a drive R: exist on your system
and is it writable?

Did you change the content of
Settings - Server - Transcoder - ‘Show Advanced’ - “Transcoder temporary directory”
and if so, what precisely did you put into it?

R: does exist and is fully writable, other transcodes seem to work fine and I can see the directories and files appearing as the system creates them.

Within the transcode directory settings it points to r:/

Fount it…

I noticed the “/” was missing on the “R:Transcode”

When I checked the settings it was there yet not showing up, a simple change + Save, then putting back again and saving followed by a restart has cleared the error.

It’s amazing what you can overlook time and time again until someone else types it… Thank you…
