Transcoder stopping: Reason "Client stopped playback" when client is still playing back content

Server Version#: 1.16.3.1402 amd64
Player Version#: 2.005 (Samsung J-series 2015)

Hey guys,

I’m having issues with movies stopping either after just a minute or halfway into a movie. Problem seems to be worst with Transcoded movies but I think it might also be happening to Direct Streamed movies too.

As it is a lot easier to reproduce with transcoded movies I have picked one which often fail within a minute of playing.

The symptoms are that the TV will stop with a error message saying “The requested stream could not be found”.

I’ve enabled Debug logging and set my Plex App to send logs to PMS.

In short what appears to be happening is that everything works well. The Plex app reports playback state every 5 seconds. Then all off a sudden the server reports,

I can then see the Plex client continues to playback each [0-9]*.ts file until it catches up to where the transcoder stopped, and then logically it tries to access a file that doesn’t exist and the TV stops the playback. The Samsung Plex App then reports back to PMS,

Aug 12, 2019 11:32:57.778 [0x7fa4c9071700] WARN - [PlexforSamsung] [Player.js] - Player Stream Not Found!

Prior to that the Samsung App does not report anything to PMS, the last previous logged messages were just in relationship to starting the playback from the start without resuming.

What causes the PMS server to think that the “Client stopped playback.” when there is no evidence in the Samsung App log that it has? I can see the Samsung App reporting back playback state every 5 seconds, including after the transcoder terminated.

So what else can cause PMS to jump to this conclusion the client has requested a stop when none have been sent and regular playback progress is being reported back?

Please provide the full debug ZIP file. The piece you supplied isn’t enough to see what PMS had decided when starting the stream.

If you would please now recreate by

  1. Start playback
  2. Let play 30 seconds
    3 capture logs
  3. Continue allowing playback until failure.
  4. Stop playback
  5. wait 30 seconds.
  6. Download logs again
  7. Append both ZIP files

I am having the same issue, regardless of the client. Does anyone found a way to correct it? Plex Media Server Logs_2019-10-09_19-51-53.zip (2.0 MB)

This is an Android (Streaming TV) app issue.

Please take the logs and create a fresh thread there.

I’m not skilled in the apps (I am Operating System and Server).
I wish I could help but I don’t know that code.
