They are the same file the only difference is the audio one is ac3 stereo the other is ac3 5.1.
So why is plex transcoding the subs just because the audio is not stereo but 5.1?
And the 5.1 audio is a direct stream, the container mkv does not chance.
Is this a bug or something else.
Can someone explain this because i can not find a good reason for it.
May be your tv doesn’t support ac3 5.1 or the audio system that is hooked up to your tv. Try enabling pass-through.
I got it to work but i had to disable audio passthrough and now it is direct playing ac3 5.1.
Now i have to figure out how to do it for eac3 5.1.

And my setup is nvidia shield tv pro 2019 to a projector and from there a optical cable to my speakers.
I really love the layout of the plex app but for now i am sticking with kodi and the plex plug-in because that plays everything with direct play as far as i have seen.
I hope plex can do that to in the future.
