Same issue here. Transfer over network stuck on LOADING. Also, there is not an option to Store Server on my mounted SSD anymore.
I forced uninstall updates of both Server & App hoping a fresh update would fix the issue. NO. Still no option to store on drive. And when I try to recreate my libraries the option for Premium Music Service is now missing as well (I am a lifetime Plex Pass holder). What a mess.
For a little while I had a fantastic new interface which included the ability to add plugins and changing storage location was available then suddenly everything was gone and/or not working
Iām also experiencing this and itās as frustrating as hell. What sort of testing is done prior to releases, as this isnāt the first time that weāve been trapped in bear-pit hell with some upgrade that never gave any indication it was about to cause issues?
Are Smoke Tests done? Are Unit Tests done? Are Functional Tests done? Iām becoming sorely disappointed with the Plex experience and considering after years of being a Plex Pass Holder, switching to Emby as I have a colleague who doesnāt have nearly as much of an issue, and actually gets acknowledgements from the Developers when problems are raised.
Fix this, and please fix it fast as itās really getting the communityās back up.
Just a heads up⦠There is a test version of the latest Nvidia Shield firmware 7.2.3(30.6.131.8) that you can get by putting in your SN into a website.
This does NOT fix this issue⦠if anyone else was tempted to install that to see if it fixes it.
Nothing new to add here. Just chiming in that I have the same problem after the update was applied. Hoping for an update to repair the issue rather than stepping backwards.
The overall SMB functionality is back, but I encounter a (timeout?) error for directories that contain a large number of files. Specifically, mounting the external storage of the Shield on macOS Mojave through Finder and then exploring a directory that holds > 20000 files does not yield any output. Resorting to the terminal and trying to list the directory contents with that results in zero output after the ālsā command terminates roughly after 20 seconds. Other folders that contain only hundred(s) of files work fine in both casesā¦
I did not yet test whether this is specific to macOS as client, but would not expect it to be.
Before I start a new thread on my āinvisible large directoryā issue, I wanted to ask you whether the same problem that I am experiencing (silent timeout on large directories) happens on your end?
To test this, I would open up Terminal, navigate to your Shield-SMB-mount, i.e.
cd /Volumes/name-of-SHIELD-SMB-mountpoint
and then create a directory with a bunch of (empty) files in it:
mkdir lots-of-files; for id in {0..20000}; do touch lots-of-files/${id}.empty; done
In my case, neither
ls lots-of-files
nor browsing of this newly created folder ālots-of-filesā in Finder shows any content but silently ignores the requestā¦
@eisenlohr Iāll try a test hopefully sometime tomorrow (just gone midnight here in Australia) and report back if I can. All my machines are still on 10.13.6 so not sure if that will make a difference?
@eisenlohr
Just reporting back. I canāt reproduce your āfaultā.
I created 2000-odd files on my Shield internal 500 GB drive (I have a Shield Pro 2017) and I can see them all, both in Terminal using ālsā and also in Finder.
Suggest you open a new Topic so we donāt drag this one off track any further?
