I have a series named The Litle drummer girl i ma trying to get the info importted but plex canot find a Match. put the info exist in Plax main how can import the information fro plex main to my date Base.
It’s a TV show, so all the rules for tv shows apply.
Library type must be “TV Shows”.

You must create a second library of the type “TV shows”.
You must store all tv shows separately from your movies.
You must point the new TV shows library to the folder with all the tv shows.

ok I got it it’s all setup, but I can match the series with the plex info back to the Litle drummer girl.
plex’s version has all the cast and the story line but at my end I don’t see an option like the movie end the match option.
Fix Match/Unmatch/Match are only available on the series as a whole, not on single seasons or episodes.
I got that but how can I set so show the I have the story line (guess a can copy it) and the cast.
any suggestions?

it’s very hard to explain but I will try. The Third image is the one I want, the second image I don’t want.
if I type in the search box the name the first one is good all the others are not.
I do not know how to get to the first option if I go to My tv Shows I end up with the wrong option.
I did put all my TV shows in there. If I go to option one in the search box, I will see all my TV shows but not in the other options.
I hope I did not confuse the issue.

You seem to still have the show on your server, formatted as a movie.
Contained in a video file with several hours of playtime. You don’t do that. (This file appears to have embedded metadata which don’t make much sense either.)
As I explained above:
Separate your media by type (movies vs. TV shows) into completely separate folders.
Then point the “Movies” library of Plex only to the folder which holds your movies.
Then point the “TV shows” library in Plex only to the folder which holds your TV shows.

Notice that the file names for movies and TV shows follow different patterns.
If you find confusing entries in your personal Plex library, the first step is to pull up the Plex media info on every movie and episode, which will tell you which file in your media storage is connected to the poster in Plex.
This is of great help when investigating.
Hi, Otto, first I have to thank you for all your help.
I finally I think I got some kind of order to this madness.
I have crated to separate folders one video and one TV, and I am using a dedicated hard drive so only those two folders are on that hard drive.
For movies I am selecting only the video folder through the library set up and for tv I am doing the same think selecting the tv folder.
I am very comfortable with the movies they all are showing properly even some of them are in subfolders. but the tv I have some issues that I have first understand it and then I can ask you for a help once I know what am asking.

Hi, I am back I am working to organize the tv portion of the plex so far so good I got the hang of it.
I have a question a have a tv series that has two episodes in on. how do I go so plex understand.
I label them as S01E01-02 and the next one a labeled as S01E03-04.
Plex kind did it by showing Title (1) episode 1, Title (1) and episode 3 and so on is that correct or you have a better way.
Plese let me know.

This series has couple of the episodes in one clip, Episodes 1 and 2 are one clip except episode 5 all the others in this season are double. I mark them S01E01-02 any other suggestion

Series with double episodes are a difficult field.
There are some minor things with your naming, which may give you trouble in the future.
Name the overall folder after the official title of the show, followed by the release year of s01e01 in parentheses.
In this case, this means Les Aventures de Tintin (1991) or The Adventures of Tintin (1991), depending on the language of your library.
There is no need to putting the release year into the file names of the episodes.
Try adding an e before the second episode number:
J:\TV
\The Adventures of Tintin (1991)
\Season 01
The Adventures of Tintin - s01e01-e02.avi <-- episode titles are purely optional
The Adventures of Tintin - s01e03-e04 - The Secret of the Unicorn.avi
The Adventures of Tintin - s01e05.avi
The Adventures of Tintin - s01e06-e07.avi
...

so, your suggestion is not to put the year in each episode but just in the main tile the starting season.
and each season should be like Season 1 1991
and looks like I should split the series so looks good.
