Trouble Enabling Remote Access

Hello! I am having some trouble with remote access. It’s saying that it’s “Not Available Outside Your Network”. I followed all the troubleshooting suggestions on this page and I still can’t get it to work. The last thing I did was reserve an IP in my router, then forwarded the port 32400.

My wireless router is the Asus RT-AC87U and I’m attempting to run the server on Windows 10.

Any help would be appreciated!

When you did the manual port foward, did you remember to check that little box to the left of “manually specify port” in the Plex settings? A silly little thing, and easily missed. If you go to http://www.canyouseeme.org/ - does it show that the port is open or not?

Thank you for your response! Yes, I do have the little box checked and it still doesn’t work. I see this:

When I go to the site you point me to, it shows me this error message: Error: I could not see your service on 71.198.134.152 on port (34200).

I notice that the ip above is the public one, do I need to forward that one too? And if so, how do I do that?

Yeah, in your router you have to make a portforward so that any attempts to connect from the outside gets pushed to the correct internal IP. Just to make sure, you wrote “34200” but normally we use 32400, was it a typo or have you altered this somehow? If canyouseeme isn’t working then something is either wrong with the portforward or you have something else stopping, a local firewall perhaps?

Yeah, that was definitely a typo haha. But yes, the issue ended up being the local firewall. Thank you for your help!
