Trouble playing 4K content

I cannot seem to play any 4K content. It plays a few minutes then the screen becomes pixelated and no more picture.

I have a Synology NAS DS218+ with a PMS on it via a docker container. I have my media player on the latest Nvidia Shield TV Pro. The Shield Pro is connected to a Google Wifi mesh.

I am curious, if I connect the Nvidia Shield TV Pro to the same LAN ethernet as the NAS would it work? Currently if I connect the Shield Pro to the LAN it no longer works assuming it is because it needs to be connected via WiFi?

With both of my powerful devices I am not sure why I cannot play 4K. Maybe I do not have direct play setup correctly?

Thank you! This is very helpful. Do you have a link to a good direct play guide? All I can seem to find on Plex Support documents is what it is and not how to set it up
