Trouble Streaming Certain Channels in Web Player

I appreciate your continued efforts here @sa2000. Could the problem be related to a configuration issue? Hardware? Again I would be interested in running a specialized build and/or providing verbose logging to help track down what is occurring here. I believe you are correct in saying this is due to double-audio channels as all channels with single audio work without exception and as expected.

I would like to start with configuration. Is there a way to get my configuration easily over to you to test? Do I zip up my PMS folder and send it over to you in PM?

Is the outcome the same in different browsers ?
MS Edge / Google Chrome ?

I like the way you are thinking here but unfortunately it doesn’t matter which browser type is used, they all exhibit the same problem.

Roku seems to be the ONLY device that is SOMEWHAT stable for watching Live TV & DVR.

Official plex apps on android, fire tv, windows desktop (ALL 3x programs) & web ALL continue to have poor performance with Live TV & DVR.

This is a systemic issue with Plex server & it’s client program itself.

Nothing to do with switching your browser.

@alienbiker99 historically speaking browsers have had differentiating aspects which lead to these types of issues, so I am OK with trying different types to see if it is a factor.

Outside of that I am in agreement, Roku is the most stable experience, but even then there are issues such as the player sitting on 33% buffering status with no real information being displayed to the user what exactly is happening, nor does it attempt to correct itself. It just times out. It’s another issue I have been wanting to get investigated. Very frustrating.

In my case, the browser player actually works well outside of this particular issue. There is something that is occurring with dual audio channels that is keeping it from working consistently.

I seem to be having a similar issue which has cropped up in the last couple weeks:
that is [Plex Playback Error: This Live TV session has ended] message.

Never experienced it prior. I tried refreshing the guide, to no avail.

Is this behavior sporadic and only limited to certain channels? I cannot find what info I need to remedy the situation… HELP!

Thanks,

Unfortunately, I have been in the same situation for over a year now, @R3m1n7 :sob:

Looks like there’s a ā€œpingbackā€ to this thread from another MUCH more active thread… looks like I posted in the wrong forum? Anyways, check out all the activity in this thread regarding the same issue:

Checking in on this issue. Seems like there are others that have encountered the same grief so wanted to see if there has been any success in reproducing/investigating it. :crossed_fingers:

I have updated the other thread with the following:

There was a Plex Web release that came out yesterday 4.70.0 that resolves a recent issue with Live TV playback. The update was to the hosted Plex Web app and would in the future get into the Plex Media Server bundled Plex Web app.

Please check to see if the problem is resolved for you when using the hosted Plex Web app through
https://app.plex.tv/desktop

Thank you for the update @sa2000. Unfortunately, these appear to be two separate issues as I am still seeing this issue with Version 1.25.0.5246 on player v4.70.0. :sob:

I was hoping the old drivers causing this issue would fix this one, but unfortunately that was not the case.

Checking in with this issue, as I have installed Version 1.25.3.5385 and it still persists on my side.

Checking in with this issue, as I have installed Version 1.25.3.5409 and it still persists on my side.

I’m seeing this exact same behavior

Still happening on Version 1.25.4.5487. So much for fixing issues that have been around for over a year. Jellyfin here I come. So much for Plex Pass.

585 days and counting. :grin::sob:

Just looked this up, I would be interested in hearing your experience. Plex is great, but wading through nearly two years to fix the most basic and obvious of issues is sort of a drag.

I have not setup Jellyfin yet, but it seems to do all the same things Plex does. I have friends running that have had good luck with it. I’ll just spin up another docker container for Jellyfin and use the same libraries as plex uses.
