Ok, I’ve got PMS running on a win10 box, and it’s run like a champ for quite a while, I’ve recently inherited a 3D TV, and as such I figured why not, I’ll see if I can get plex to cooperate, but, so far, no good. A search of the web sent me to a thread somewhere that said the filename needed to have h-sbs in it if it’s a side by side file type, so, the movie’s name is “movie.3d.h-sbs.mp4”, and while I finally fixed the match to be the right movie, it sees there are two 1080p versions of the movie (one’s a 3D the other isn’t), but, the sbs one doesn’t attempt to kick into 3d mode. is there a setting somewhere that I need to change to enable it, or, am I just up the creek on this?
What Media Formats Are Supported?
Is 3D playback supported?
Yes. However, note that there is nothing special that the Plex app can do to instruct the television that a specific video is 3D. You will need to enable the appropriate 3D viewing mode on the television yourself.
See the Specific Model Differences section for more information.
This thread may help. There are many such threads. Search the forum for “3D side by side.”
so in other words, plex will just play the video, and the TV will have to be switched into 3D mode manually, Plex won’t send whatever signal it is that makes the tv automatically switch to 3D mode… got it… I hadn’t found that info yet… Thanks.
