Sure…Honestly, I don’t care at all about my Photos or Music (within Plex that is)… All I really use Plex for is movies.
So how do I disable “autotagging”? One of the advanced settings on the library?

Settings - Server - Scheduled Tasks.
Might want to restart PMS so it stops current tagging efforts.
Found the setting… disabled… and will bounce PMS now… want the logs after all that?
Attempt the playback.
Let’s go for the whole thing.
OK, I disabled some of the Music library advanced features in addition to turning OFF Autotagging in the Photos library… now it’s churning away… Once everything finishes, I’ll upload the logs… Hopefully in the next 10-15 min, but I have thousands of music files.
Are they freshly being scanned?
I guess not… It’s done already including a manual DB Optimization… Logs attached.
Your MaxWatches / iNotify value is still out of whack.
If you edited the file, DSM needs restarting OR
What’s your pleasure?
Easiest method… no one using the nas but me tonight.

Ok… Restart DSM
Synology should use 32768.
If they are broken (haha), we will do it the proper Linux way.
(I will be AFK for 20-25 min)
I did reboot it after making that change yesterday… screen shot above of what I did…
For fun, I rebooted it again…
Back… What does playback do and what do the logs show?
Same… it won’t playback until I change from TrueHD… logs are here… but remember, I didn’t change anything… I changed the Watch settings and rebooted yesterday but here are the newest logs.
You don’t list an nvidia shield, so I’m simply gonna guess that none of your clients actually support truehd, and that your server should be transcoding the truehd but isn’t due to the other issues that Chuck is trying to work through with you, and that is causing your movies to appear to fail to play unless direct played with other audio streams.
The latest logs tell me the Syno is not doing what I want it to do.
Therefore, we will get the
and make it do what I want.
echo fs.inotify.max_user_watches=32768 >> /etc/sysctl.conf
sysctl -p
All of these Jan 23, 2019 20:33:41.684 [0x7fae2e911700] ERROR - [Notify] Failed to add watch for better be gone. If not, something with my instructions went seriously wrong.
@TeknoJunky Correct.
You forgot to turn DEBUG logging back on.
Try again please ?
Debug on,
Restart PMS
Playback the item.

Sorry about that… I enabled Debug and Verbose logging. Here you go. I’m going to be AFK for about 12 hours after this post, but I definitely will be back later tonight!
AND NOW IT PLAYS!! WOOOHOOO!!
