I have a TrueNAS system running on an i7 PC with a local drive pool set up for Plex. Everything is working smoothly—Plex accesses the media from the TrueNAS pool without any issues.
In addition, I have a separate QNAP NAS that I want to add directly to Plex. Since TrueNAS doesn’t support mapping external device drives I was told, I’m trying to configure Plex to access the movies stored on the QNAP drives. However, I’m unable to add the QNAP shared folder (\\192.168.0.106\movies) to Plex. Even though I’ve added the QNAP’s IP address and configured the server settings in Plex, it only seems to access media through the TrueNAS system.
On the QNAP, I’ve enabled both SMB and NFS, and I can access the QNAP from my Windows PC without any issues. However, I’m unsure how to mount or access the QNAP shares from the TrueNAS system.
Can anyone assist with this?
